About Dr. Emanuele
Experience and Professionalism
Dr. Emanuele is passionate about providing stress-free, comprehensive care for aquatic animals in their own environments. Her main professional interests are in the nutrition, ophthalmology, surgery, and preventative care of aquatic species. Prior to attending NCSU-College of Veterinary Medicine, she worked in the Living Collections department of the North Carolina Museum of Natural Sciences as an aquatics technician.
Where Passion Meets Compassion
Dr. Emanuele received her B.S. in Marine Biology from Roger Williams University in Rhode Island. She spent every spare moment in her university's wetlab, raising cuttlefish for a thesis project. Dr. Emanuele is a member of the executive board of the American Association of Fish Vets, serves on the AVMA's Animal Welfare Committee, and teaches fellow veterinarians about fish medicine at national conferences several times a year. In her (rare) spare time, she also operates an in-home euthanasia veterinary practice, gardens, bakes, and wrangles three kids with her husband.
